The Society of Companion Animal Practitioners of Sri Lanka (SCAPSL)
comprising veterinarians specializing in companion animal practice, will be holding
its Annual General Meeting and Convention on 15th August 2025 at the Cinnanion
Grand Hotel, Colombo, commencing at 05.30 PM.
SCAPSL members play a significant role in rabies control efforts in Sri Lanka,
working closely with both the veterinary and public health sectors to advance the
One Health agenda. In recognition of this contribution, we are proud to announce
the launch of our National Rabies Control Program during this year's AGM which
is a milestone initiative aimed at strengthening rabies prevention and control
nationwide.
The Chief Guest for the event will be the Honorable Deputy Minister of Heath,
Hon. (Dr.) Hansaka Wijemuni M.P, underscoring the public health impotance of
this occasion. Given the national relevance of this program and the professional
significance of our AGM and Convention, we seck your assistance in ensuring
extensive media coverage for the event.
We believe that with the expertise and popularity of the IIN, this event can receive
the public attention it deserves, therey raising awareness about the vital role
veterinarians play in protecting both animal and human health in Sri Lanka. We
