Treinetic Launched Getin, a New Journey-Sharing
App Connecting Professionals Travelling the Sarme
Route
Shared Rides, Smnarter Commutes
cOLOMBO, Sri Lanka - 16 August 2026: Treinetic has launched Getin, a planned journey-
sharing mobile app that connects verified professionals already travelling in the same
direction.
Getln is built around a simple idea: thousands of professionals make similar journeys every
day, often travelling alone with unused seats in their vehicles. Through the app, a Captain
can share available seats on a journey they already intend to make, while a Passenger carn
find a matching route, share travel costs and potentially make a valuable professional
connection.
Getin is not an on-demand taxi or roadside pick-up service. Instead, it is designed to make
journeys that are already taking place more useful, economical and connected.
According to Numbeo's Traffic Index by Country 2026 Mid-Year, Sri Lanka recorded the third-
highest Traffic Index globally and the highest in Asia, underscoring the need for smarter and
more efficient mobility solutions
Getin is introducing a new approach to mobility by enabling people to share their daily
journeys, improve vehicle utilisation, and create a more connected transportation
ecosystem. By making better use of existing vehicles and empty seats, Getln aims to
contribute towards reducing congestion, minimising unnecessary fuel consumption, and
supporting a cleaner, more sustainable future for Sri Lanka.
Getin begins with a journey that is already planned. A Captain publishes the route, date,
time and number of available seats, while a verified Passenger can search for a compatible
journey in the same direction. By combining same-route matching, a verified professional
unity and opportunities for meaningful connections, Getin offers a distinct alternative
community
..
to conventional ride-hailing platforms.
"Getin, a journey-sharing platform developed by Treinetic, turns an empty seat into shared
value," said Imal Perera, CEO of Treinetic. "Captains can offset part of their everyday travel
costs, while Passengers gain access to a practical journey already heading in their
direction. But the opportunity goes beyond commuting. We want Getlin to create
connections between professionals who may otherwise never have met."
He added: "Over time, making better use of journeys already taking place also has the
potential to support more efficient urban mobility and reduce unnecessary vehicle use. That
is the thinking behind our promise: Same Route. New Connections"
Trust and community are central to the Getln experience, with the platform designed around
verified users and planned journeys rather than spontaneous roadside pick-ups. This
Passengers
approach aims to create a more structured enyironment in which Captains
can connect based on compatible routes and travel plans.
